				<title>Validity and Reliability of the Scale Assessment and Rating of Ataxia Persian Version Questionnaire</title>

				<abstract><![CDATA[Introduction: The Ataxia Assessment and Rating Scale (SARA) has been validated in English and a standardized tool having translation and modification according to Iranian language and culture was needed. Therefore, we aimed to determine the validity and reliability of the SARA.Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted among patients with ataxia who were referred to the otolaryngology office from April 2023 to January 2024. The SARA questionnaire consists of 8 objects that have been translated into Persian. Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was measured to find the internal consistency. Moreover, the intra-class correlation coefficient (ICC) was calculated to evaluate the test-retest reliability. Furthermore, the content validity ratio (CVR) and the content validity index (CVI) were calculated to assess the content validity.Results: A total of 11 patients with ataxia (aged 48.5±18.8 years) enrolled in the current study. After examining the face validity, the experts did not mention any particular problem. In the content validity, each CVI and CVR index item was equal to one. Cronbach&#039;s alpha obtained was equal to 0.893 that indicates a high level of internal consistency of this scale in the first iteration. In the second iteration, this index was obtained as 0.892. In all the items, except the heel shin item, the value of the ICC could not be estimated because the scores in the first and second iterations were the same. ICC for the heel shin item was equal to 0.944.Conclusion: The Persian version of the SARA questionnaire achieved the necessary validity and reliability and can be used in patients with ataxia to detect the ataxia symptoms and its severity in the country.]]></abstract>

				<title>Six Minute Walk Test in Covid 19 Recovery Patients</title>

				<abstract><![CDATA[Introduction: COVID-19 pneumonia  is a respiratory disease caused by a novel and terrible coronavirus, which usually presents with lung involvement and symptoms range from cough , shortness of breath to respiratory distress syndrome and hypoxemia .Some persistent symptoms such as dyspnea and fatigue represented in covid 19 patients following disease improvement. In the current study, we evaluated the pulmonary status of COVID-19 patients who had lung involvement after 3 months relief ,utilizing a 6-minute walking test (6MWT).Method: In this single center cross-sectional study, we recruited 60 COVID-19 confirmed by real-time reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR)), patients who were cured three months ago and collected their demographic information, modified medical research council (MMRC)questionnaire , pulmonary involvement percentage (based on CT-scan reports), 6MWT, heart rate, gender, height, weight, body mass index (BMI), and saturation of O2 (SPO2)% before and after 6MWT. The study used frequency tests to describe qualitative variables and mean ± standard deviation (SD) for quantitative variables. Data analysis included t-tests, chi-squares, and ANOVA. SPSS 26 is used for all analytic processes.Result: The participants  had  mean age 44.27± 11.5 years included 32 men (53.3%) , 28 women (46.7%). The mean 6MWTdistance was 454.97±95.32 meters(range:219-620 meters). The CT scan score  was 6.58±2.60 (3-13)out of 24. Age and functional dyspnea showed a significant reverse association with 6MWT, although SPO2% before and after 6MWT showed a straight association (p-value&lt; 0.05). There was no significant association between 6MWT and BMI, heart rate, gender, or score of pulmonary involvement CT scan(p-value &gt; 0.05).Conclusion: 6MWT is a simple and benefit  tool for prediction physical pulmonary function. Exertional  dyspnea and Spo2%  showed adverse effect before and after walking in 6MWT in Covid 19 patients recovery .]]></abstract>

				<title>Validation of the Persian-Translated NutritionDay Questionnaire</title>

				<abstract><![CDATA[Introduction: Hospital malnutrition is a widespread health problem. Most studies on hospital malnutrition used different validated screening tools to determine malnutrition and the nutritional status of patients. Therefore, it is not possible to compare the prevalence of malnutrition among wards and hospitals. The nutritionDay project is a one-day, cross-sectional audit run in healthcare institutions. The nutritionDay hospital questionnaires are available in more than 30 languages and it includes 4 sheets focused on hospital structure, ward structure/processes, patient’s clinical condition, patient’s nutritional status, and 30-day outcome. For the first time, we analyzed to prove the validity and reliability of the Persian translation of the nutritionDay questionnaires.Method: At first, two separate people did the questionnaire&#039;s translation into Persian and re-translation into English. Then, the translation was sent to 15 experts to assess content validity. The validity of the questionnaire was evaluated by checking relevance, clarity, simplicity, and importance score. Questions with a content validity ratio (CVR)&gt;0.49 were accepted. The average technique was used to calculate the content validity index (CVI). Also, Cronbach’s alpha coefficient and test-retest couldn’t be calculated for reliability assessment due to the variety of variables and the nature of the nutrition questionnaire.Result : Overall, the CVR of all questions was above 0.49. Also, the CVI-Relevancy, CVI-Clarity, CVI-simplicity, and Importance scores of the final tool were 0.98, 0.99, 0.99, and 4.69 respectively.Conclusion : This Persian translated nutritionDay questionnaire demonstrates strong content and face validity. Furthermore, it can be an appropriate tool for evaluating patients&#039; clinical conditions and nutritional status.]]></abstract>

				<abstract><![CDATA[Introduction: Alkaptonuria is an autosomal recessive genetic disorder that disrupts tyrosine metabolism, causing the buildup of homogentisic acid and its oxidized derivatives in tissues, including the heart, leading to potential health issues. Understanding Alkaptonuria pathophysiology and clinical manifestations is crucial for early recognition and appropriate management.Case Report: A 53-year-old man with severe aortic stenosis (AS) and coronary artery disease is scheduled for coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and aortic valve replacement (AVR) surgery. After median sternotomy and cardiopulmonary bypass, the aortotomy showed black discoloration of the aortic wall and valve.Conclusion: The patient&#039;s echocardiogram indicated very severe AS with thickened and calcified leaflets, moderate aortic regurgitation (AR), and mild mitral regurgitation (MR). The aortotomy revealed significant black discoloration of the aortic wall and valve, indicating a critical issue that demands immediate attention. These findings underscore the necessity for thorough preoperative assessment and careful perioperative management to improve outcomes.]]></abstract>

				<title>Simultaneous Surgical Management of Anterior Mediastinal Mature Cystic Teratoma and Triple Vessel Coronary Artery Disease in a Patient with Inguinal Hernia: A Case Report</title>

				<abstract><![CDATA[We present a case of a 61-year-old diabetic male patient who was incidentally found to have a large anterior mediastinal mature cystic teratoma during a routine chest radiograph performed as part of pre-anaesthesia evaluation for inguinal hernia surgery. Although, the patient was largely asymptomatic, but reported mild exertional dyspnea. Further investigations revealed triple vessel coronary artery disease (TVCAD. A multidisciplinary approach involving thoracic, cardiac and anesthesia teams led to the decision of performing a single-stage surgery. The surgical procedure involved resecting the mediastinal mass and subsequently performing coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) for the triple vessel disease. The patient’s postoperative recovery was smooth, with no significant complications, and he was discharged in stable condition. His histopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of a mature cystic teratoma. This case shows the importance of a coordinated, multidisciplinary strategy in managing complex coexisting pathologies, showing the feasibility of simultaneous surgical intervention for both mediastinal and coronary conditions.]]></abstract>

				<title>A Case Report of Facial Nerve Palsy in Kawasaki Disease</title>

				<abstract><![CDATA[Introduction: One of the most prevalent childhood vasculitis is kawasaki disease (KD), which mainly affects medium-sized arteries throughout the body. This disease usually does not cause many neurological symptoms and only rarely results in facial nerve palsy (FNP).Case presentation: A 4.6-month-old iranian girl presented due to a prolonged fever. Lab tests showed increased CRP, ESR, ferritin, WBC, and platelet counts, and echocardiography revealed dilated right and left main coronary arteries, without any vegetations, pericardial effusion, and atrioventricular valve regurgitation. The patient was diagnosed with incomplete KD. At the same time, she developed left-sided peripheral FNP. Patient treated with intravenous immunoglobulin and aspirin. The fever resolved after about 36 hours, and the patient was discharged on the 16th day of hospital admission. Follow-up echocardiography demonstrated gradually resolution of her coronary arteries dilation. FNP was recovered completely after about 2 months.Conclusion: FNP is an uncommon neurological symptom of KD. However, it typically resolves on its own and without any lasting effects in those who survive the illness. Nevertheless, it may indicate a higher likelihood of coronary artery involvement, and as a result, additional anti-inflammatory treatments and more closely monitored echocardiography may be necessary.]]></abstract>
